We do not consider ourselves candidates for a Nobel prize; at least not yet. The technology of reverse osmosis was discovered back in 1748, tested in desalting seawater in 1959, and from the late 1970s onwards, reverse osmosis membranes have become widely available. AqSep has developed and refined key components in our desalination units. Together with Danfoss A/S, a Fortune 500 company, we have developed both the intelligent software and invented one of the most efficient and robust seawater energy recovery pump devices in the world.

ABUNDANT WATER
Our desalination units are used as single units or as multiple units in parallel. We can thus offer a cost-effective solution for consumption ranging from 2 to 150 m³/day (633 to 40,000 gallons/day). Since you are in charge of the water production yourself, there are no limits to how much water you can use.
Due to our overall high efficiency, solar power is widely used to run the desalination units, and it indeed does make sense to transform sunshine into fresh water while minimizing your carbon footprint.
CARBON REDUCTION
Our watermakers with efficient energy recovery technology makes it possible to save up to 63 % of the energy when compared to traditional units not having energy recovery. So by choosing AqSep you will have a low carbon emission and where you are replacing an existing unit you will actually obtain a carbon reduction.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
The seawater is purified without the use of chemical and artificial additives. If cleaning of the membranes is required, the membranes will be removed by your service agent and then cleaned and regenerated in a controlled environment.
The highly efficient high-pressure pump contains no oil or other chemicals or artificial lubricants that may cause environmental pollution. The high-pressure pump uses only the pumped media, in this case salty water as lubricant. The low energy consumption of the desalination unit contributes to lower carbon emissions.
LOW ENERGY COSTS
Our watermakers have a record low power consumption compared to competing machines and reverse osmosis plants in general. You can rest assured that the low power consumption is a priority to us, and we work hard to further reduce the energy consumption. The power consumption is so low that ordinary domestic power installations (single or three phase) are adequate. The total energy consumption is down to around 2.2 kWh/m³ (13 kWh/1,000 gallon). In addition, we aim to make it easy to connect the units to solar installations. All units are thus energy-efficient and yet simple and robust.
